My blogging tip: PLAGIARIZE
Thanks to Armchair BEA I have spent all week visiting new book blogs and meeting beautiful book bloggers. Out of all that wisdom, here is the tip I impart to y'all:
If a blogger has a better idea than you- steal borrow it.
Since both TS Eliot and Stephen Ambrose were horrible plagiarists yet still went on to become famous- you will be in good company (though no promises on the fame thing).
A few days ago I visited Erin Reads for the first time. And y'all? My bookish self jumped for joy when I saw her Classics Reclamation Project. To quote Erin, "After years of reading classics for school, I came to believe they were difficult and anything but enjoyable. The Classics Reclamation Project (C.R.P.) is about breaking those assumptions and reclaiming the classics for myself."
ohmygoodnessyes.
I mulled it over. To borrow or not to borrow? Y'all, all I needed was A Sign. This Sign was delivered to my inbox May 25th at 9:40 AM from noreply@turnitin.com.
Dear Hannah Finley,
You have been enrolled in the Turnitin class "English II Per. 5" by your instructor, Khristy Reibel. This receipt acknowledges that Turnitin received your paper. Below you will find the receipt information regarding your submission:
| Paper ID: | 188951306 |
| Paper Title: | Hannah Finley |
| Assignment Title: | TKMB Mockingbird Essay |
| Author: | Hannah Finley |
Since I both finished school AND got a new last name in 2009, this email was either a huge coincidence (which I don't believe in) or The Sign. Clearly an erroneous email from an anti-plagiarism organization means PLAGIARIZE YOUR HEART OUT, BABY!
Decided: Steal Borrow Erin's idea. So now to my own Classics Reclamation Project. I initially planned on re-naming it Classics Reclamation Awesomeness Project, but since the acronym becomes somewhat undesirable, I will stick with Erin's original CRP.
Stay tuned, y'all for more to come on The Best Idea I Never Had.
